Monday June 17, Venice
We started our day with a water taxi ride to a glass blowing studio and demonstration. After the demo we took the water taxi to Venice and had a guided tour of the city. Venice has a very interesting history and is a gorgeous destination. After our orientation we had some free time to shop and eat lunch (Venice is known for fresh fish). After lunch we had gondola rides, and then dinner. After dinner, as the sun was setting, we returned to Jesolo via our water taxi. It has been a fantastic trip. Italy is a very special place, but it has been the participants who have created an unforgettable experience. Buon giorno!
Sunday June 16 Florence, Bologna and Lido di Jesolo
Hello to everyone!
We had a fantastic day. The weather is perfecto, the students are all well, having loads of fun and keeping us entertained :-) It has been a busy trip, and some of us began the day with a quick visit to the Medici Chapel while others opted for some extra sleep. The Medici Chapel was amazing. Not many tourists visit, but it houses some major Michelangelo Sculptures. By 9:30, Antonio our bus driver was transporting us to Bologna. Bologna is a very interesting and beautiful city. It has the oldest university in the world and continues to attract artists and independent thinkers. We enjoyed a nice lunch and continued on to Jesolo. Jesolo is a great base for visiting Venice. It has the longest pedestrian outdoor shopping mall in the world, and the students are taking advantage of the opportunity spend their remaining euros!
